That is, it will be my new phone if we have the money. It’s the MyTouch 3G Slide. Rumor has it it’ll be available May 17th. I’d prefer to have a 5 row keyboard but I don’t think that’s going to happen again. The MyTouch 3G Slide will run Android 2.1 with a new Sense UI interface. Pretty cool. Now if only they put a good processor in there.
Our Florida Future
We’ve decided it’s time to leave Georgia. I’ve applied for several positions in Palm Bay / Melbourne and Orlando. We’re hoping for Palm Bay most. Mentioned moving to the kids and they were quite excited. I think this move would be good for all of us. I’ll continue looking for more openings down there, expanding the search area if nothing comes up soon.

I am so bad about keeping this thing updated. It doesn’t really make sense except that I’m lazy. It’s not like I’m ever not connected to the net. I used to twitter a lot from my Curve 8900. I don’t know if twitter got old or if I just don’t like the Android clients.

Party Dress
President Obama presented his first Medal Of Honor September 17th. It was presented to the parents of SFC Jared Monti, the 3,448th service member to get the Medal Of Honor. He was part of a patrol that came under an ambush. He left cover three times trying to rescue one of his soldiers while Taliban fighters kept firing bullets and grenades. It was during the third attempt that a grenade took his own life.
Someone forgot to tell Michelle how to dress for such an occasion. 
The Republican Me
I’ve always considered myself more little “l” libertarian than anything else. But take a look at these ten items.
(1) We support smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama’s “stimulus” bill;
(2) We support market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run healthcare;
(3) We support market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation;
(4) We support workers’ right to secret ballot by opposing card check;
(5) We support legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;
(6) We support victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;
(7) We support containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;
(8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;
(9) We support protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing and denial of health care and government funding of abortion; and
(10) We support the right to keep and bear arms by opposing government restrictions on gun ownership;
This list is from an RNC resolution called “Proposed RNC Resolution on Reagan’s Unity Principle for Support of Candidates”. MSNBC is asking if this is a purity test for GOP candidates. I think purity is a poor word choice. If you read the comments it got the desired effect though. Another example of unbiased journalism…
Anyway, I agree with 9 of the 10. The one I don’t agree with is not because I support the other view but because the feds shouldn’t have a say one way or the other.

The Plunge
I think we’re about to do it. “Do what?” you ask. Get rid of cable TV. We are paying way too much for TV. We dropped HBO/Cinemax and went to the extended basic with HD plan and it didn’t really make that much difference. The biggest difference was going from 20Meg to 10Meg internet. We can catch most of our shows on Hulu. Except CBS and the CW. There are quite a few CBS shows but only Supernatural and Smallville from the CW. Stay tuned.
Hmm… Wonder if the Wii can play videos from Hulu, CBS, CW, etc…
