Election Day

datePosted on 00:11, November 4th, 2008 by Brian

Most of the polls on the East Coast open in 7 hours to start the most important Presidential year elections in my lifetime. I hope most who vote today have taken the time to get to know the positions each candidate takes and the impact that will have on our lives. This goes beyond the two possible presidents to include the Senators and Representatives. Please think before you cast your ballot.

WTF, Over?

datePosted on 14:46, June 27th, 2008 by Brian

This story out of NC is funny. Thing is, WTF did not originate in the “Internet era.” I joined the Army in January 1989. The first thing a Drill Sargent yelled at us when we got to Fort Jackson was “WTF are you doing still on my bus?!?!” And I know it wasn’t a new phrase back then. Sure there are new phrases and stuff but most of them are adaptations that were already in use.

BTW, once we got to the unit… they quit using the letters.

The Dungeon Master Has Passed

datePosted on 23:43, March 4th, 2008 by Brian

Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons and father of all dungeon masters, passed away today at the age of 69. There are a few tribute pages out there already.
This is the Wizards Of The Coast Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page. Not sure how long they’ll keep that active.
This is the tribute page at Penny Arcade. I like this one.
The Gary Gygax Wikipedia page.
Gary was last working with Troll Lord Games. This is the announcement in the forums.

Pay for tax cuts

datePosted on 07:23, October 17th, 2007 by Brian

“Don’t cut taxes unless you have a plan to pay for it.”

This is one of the things Hillary Clinton said during an interview on the Fox Business Channel this morning. That’s a scary thought. It defies all logic and reason. How does a person see the people of America if a tax cut requires payment. The taxes are a payment. She said later in the interview that she believes the top income earners can afford to pay more taxes so the middle class can have a break. I’m all for the middle class paying less taxes. But I also think everyone who pays taxes should have to pay less and the federal government needs to spend less.

Wedding Plans

datePosted on 10:56, September 12th, 2007 by Brian

This is a quick snapshot of how Sunday will go…

The dress for our church service and wedding is CASUAL! Please come comfortable. Wear jeans if that is what makes you comfortable.

We are getting married on Sunday morning, September 16th 2007. We are getting married after our church service. The service starts at 10:30 am, and we will get married right after, but we do not have a specific time for that. The wedding ceremony itself will only last approximately 15 minutes. We have a great pastor and a wonderful congregation and I believe that everyone will really get a kick out of the service. If you would like to hear our past sermons, they can all be found at: StonePoint Church

Our church meets at the Georgian Cinemas, here in Newnan. There are directions on our website, as well as the church website (see above)

Stanaland.org

We are going to have a small lunch/gathering for family and close friends afterward at our home. If you need directions please email me. That should only last about an hour and there will not be alcohol. (Its SUNDAY PEOPLE!!)

We are registered at WalMart and Target, but no one is required to get us a gift. We only ask that you think about us and keep our family in your prayers for happiness and continued love.

All our Love,

Valerie & Brian
