I just placed an order for a new laptop. I chose a Lenovo ThinkPad T61. Specs are below.

Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (I have to get used to it)

Intel GMA X3100 GM965 (better battery life than descrete. plus I don’t game)
1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM) (Will upgrade to 4GB from Fry’s)
UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)
250GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm (plenty of room for Linux distros and lots of pics)
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim
ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe
9 cell Li-Ion Battery (I upgraded the battery)
Microsoft Office 2007, Home and Student (I know OpenOffice is out there…)

Ship date is estimated at March 26th. WAY too long. Hopefully it won’t take that long.
